The current dilapidated Fisherman’s Wharf site is past its useful life and doesn’t meet current merchant needs. It is also too big, with the average vacancy of retail space in the general area over seventeen percent (17%). The project’s design program presents a unique strategy to both create an artisan food venue along with hand-picked restaurants and retail uses that will shape a lifestyle experience above-and-beyond the typical retail centers in the vicinity.

According to California Lutheran University Center for Economic Research, Ventura County is projected to add 3,000 jobs a year for the next three years. Right now, only 300 multi-family rental units are in construction with another 1,200 planned.

The current state of Fisherman’s Wharf is very dilapidated and appears neglected and under-utilized. A new, revitalized center will create a lifestyle experience to serve Oxnard and the surrounding communities while bringing in approximately $600,000 in new annual revenue to the City of Oxnard.
